POLLUTION

Environmental pollution is called to the presence in the atmosphere of any agent (physical, chemical or biological ) or a combination of several drugs in places, forms and concentrations that are or may be harmful to health, safety or the welfare of the population , or that may be harmful to plant or animal life .As you increase the power of man over nature and new needs arise , the surrounding environment is deteriorating more and more. The social behavior of man, allowed him apart from other living things. But as they adapt to the environment to survive, man adapts and modifies the same medium as neededTechnological progress, environmental disturbance occurs, in some cases threatening the ecological balance of the Earth.

This requires that protects renewable and nonrenewable resources and to realize that environmental sanitation is essential for life on the planet .Contamination can arise from certain manifestations of nature (natural sources) or due to the different production processes of man (anthropogenic sources) that make up daily life activities .

The sources that generate major pollution are industrial (refrigerators, slaughterhouses and tanneries, mining and oil), (wrappers and packaging), agricultural (agrochemicals), home (bottles , diapers, garden waste) and mobile sources (gas combustion vehicles). Traditionally the environment has been divided for study and interpretation, in these three components: air, water and soil.

TYPES OF POLLUTION

There are different types of pollution. The major types of pollution are affecting basic natural resources: air, soil and water.

• Water pollution.

• Air Pollution.

• Soil contamination.

• Radioactive contamination.

• Light pollution.

• Noise pollution.

• Visual Pollution.

These depend on certain factors and distinctly affect each environment.

WATER POLLUTION

Water pollution is the action or effect of introducing materials on water that directly or indirectly involve an alteration that impairs their quality in relation to their future use or their environmental services.
"Only after the last tree is cut.
Only after the last river is poisoned.
Only after the last fish is caught.
Only then will you know that money can not be eaten."

AIR POLLUTION

Air pollution means the presence in the air of material or energy forms involving risk, damage or serious problems for people. This can attack different materials, reduce visibility and cause unpleasant odors.

The name of air pollution generally applies to changes that have harmful effects on living organisms and the material elements, and not to other alterations harmless. The main mechanisms of air pollution are industrial processes that involve combustion, in industries such as automotive and residential heating, which generate carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and sulfur, among other contaminants. Similarly, some industries emit harmful gases in their production processes, including chlorine and hydrocarbons have not made complete combustion.

ADVERSE HEALTH EFFECTS

Increases in air pollution and lung problems occur increases in heart attacks. High levels of air pollution under the Air Quality Index Agency Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) directly harm people with asthma and other lung or heart disease. The overall air quality has improved in the last 20 years but urban areas are still a concern.

The level of risk depends on several factors:

The amount of pollution in the air,

• The amount of air we breathe at a given time,

• The overall health.

Other less direct ways in which people are exposed to air pollutants are:

• Consumption of food contaminated with air toxics have been deposited where they grow;

• Consumption of water contaminated with airborne substances,

• Contact with soil, dust or water.

SOIL POLLUTION

Soil contamination is the presence of chemical compounds made by man or other alteration to the natural soil environment.

This contamination usually appears to result in breakage of underground storage tanks, application of pesticides, leaking landfills or direct accumulation of industrial products.

The most common chemicals include petroleum products, solvents, pesticides and other heavy metals. This phenomenon is closely related to the degree of industrialization and intensity of chemical use.

Regarding soil contamination risk is primarily your health, directly and in contact with drinking water sources. The delineation of contaminated areas and the resulting cleanup tasks that are time and money consuming, requiring extensive skills in geology, hydrography, chemistry and computer models.

AGENTS , PESTICIDES E INSECTICIDE

Agents

When soil is deposited on a voluntary or accidental various products such as paper, glass, plastic, organic material, solvents, pesticides, hazardous or radioactive substances , etc.

Pesticides

The man population growth requires a great challenge in relation to food resources, which implies a more intensive use of the soil, in order to obtain a higher agricultural yields.

Insecticide

They are used to kill insect pests. They act on larvae , insect eggs or adults.

The problem of pesticide pollution is increasingly serious both the quantity and diversity as resistance to them acquiring some species , causing required increasing amounts of pesticide to obtain the desired effect on pests. However, the flora and fauna is affected increasingly destroying the natural diversity of the regions in which they are used. They can also be consumed by humans through plants and animals consumed as food .

Other insecticides that are biodegradable and are not concentrated , but its toxic action mechanism is associated with the transmission of nerve impulses , resulting in contaminated bodies an uncoordinated nervous system.
